"No, I didn't," said Anne, stifling her laughter, lest the retreating enigma should hear here. "Who in the world can he be?""Most men do," said Miss Cornelia, sewing furiously. Miss Cornelia was not going to sit with idle hands, even on Christmas.

Cavernaut is a game about escaping the labyrinthine mines of an alien planet.

It could be said, then, that those mines represent the iOS App Store. Why? Because that's where the game has been stuck until now.

But we have news of its escape. Developer Jan Schoenepauck tells us that Cavernaut will be coming to Android on October 13th.

It's not exactly freedom but it coming to Google Play is, at least, a different set of mines.

If you're not familiar with it at all just, er, imagine Lunar Lander set in a series of cramped vertical corridors. Yeah, tricky.

There are lasers, floating bombs, and crushing doors to make it even hard too. Plus, you have to refuel regularly or face demise.

This week, James and Matt take apart the Nintendo Switch Lite. Not literally take it apart, of course. It hasn't even been released yet. Just a nice, inexpensive chat dissection. They also tell you how to get into the Minecraft World beta, and cover the upcoming Cuphead Netflix show.

New releases include the latest Nintendo game to hit mobile, Dr. Mario World, and Capcom's franchise-spanning card battler Teppen. What Remains of Edith Finch has made the journey onto Switch, along with crafting sequel Dragon Quest Builders 2.
Download episode 492:
(right click to save-as, left click to play)

And credent soul to that strong-bonded oath,
Lords Mobile has gone from strength to strength since its launch on the app stores in 2016, racking up hundreds of millions of downloads. IGG’s epic multiplayer strategy has been a mainstay in the ‘highest grossing…’ section of App Annie’s reports and it boldly expanded into PC territory last year.

The developer has been building on the game’s framework with a steady flow of new content over the years, and they’re readying another update right now. A bumper patch is due to drop through the App Store and Google Play at the end of July, and here’s a sneak peek at what’s included…

Daily Quests and Dragon Arena optimisationsPlayers are about to have a lot more to do in Lords Mobile as well as a major incentive to log in every day. IGG is adding new Daily Quests to the game via the latest update, and by completing these, you can earn a wealth of rewards. These promise to come in handy when you’re improving your turf.

The patch isn’t just about bonuses you can earn through questing; there are freebies on offer, too. The Dragon Arena has been optimised and players who enter it will receive a complimentary pair of Dragonwing Boots, exclusive to this arena. The biggest change to the arena itself a reduction to the number Strongholds for higher leagues, so you can focus solely on the thrills of battle.

Guild Bash levels and Darknest upgradesThe incoming patch will also introduce new ways to level up and upgrade in Lords Mobile. Firstly, new levels have been added to Guild Bash and this means increased event prizes, so get ready to rally your guild and fight to the death for glory and riches against rival factions.

Darknest upgrades are available, too, with the cap now set at level 6 and level 26 for Dark Essences. Watch out, though, because Darknest Monsters will be able to use their Army Talents against you.

To get your hands on all of this new content, simply update Lords Mobile to the latest version through the App Store or Google Play when the July update lands at the end of the month.

A THIEF came in the night to break into a house. He brought with him several slices of meat in order to pacify the Housedog, so that he would not alarm his master by barking. As the Thief threw him the pieces of meat, the Dog said, "If you think to stop my mouth, you will be greatly mistaken. This sudden kindness at your hands will only make me more watchful, lest under these unexpected favors to myself, you have some private ends to accomplish for your own benefit, and for my master's injury."

In May this year, Endemol and 9th Impact announced that they would be teaming up to release Big Brother: The Game for iOS and Android. Some details were fairly scarce at the time and frankly, they still are. But at least we now know the game will be heading for mobile on October 15th.

Big Brother: The Game will feature two different game modes, one for spectators and another for contestants. There will be optional in-game purchases for viewers – though I have no idea what those are – whilst to become a contestant you will have to purchase a Token.

There will also be a 'life-changing prize fund up for grabs' with the developers aiming to make the world's first massively multiplayer online reality TV show. Contestants will need to make use of their social, psychological and interpersonal skills to remain in the house and ultimately emerge victorious.
Terafyn review - “An enchanting card RPG with a powerful, vivid narrative”
Much like the TV show itself then, players can expect to have to complete chores, take part in competitions and face evictions. All the while, they'll need to interact with the other contestants that are taking part in the same season.

It's certainly an intriguing concept, though I'd still like to know how long each 'season' will last for. Additionally, the success may depend on how much the Tokens cost to purchase to become a contestant in the first place because if it's too high, people might be less likely to get involved.

Big Brother: The Game will be available over on the App Store and Google Play on October 15th. It will be a free-to-play game with optional in-app purchases for spectators but IAPs are required to become a contestant.
Interested in other upcoming games?
