<p>A couple of weeks ago I said that Starific might be your next arcade addiction. Well, it's out now, so it's time to find out.</p><p>Trying to explain exactly what's going on in Starific isn't exactly easy. So let's keep this simple.</p><p>Imagine it like a game of Breakout but on an octagon. You can move your paddle all around this octagon and will have to in order to keep the ball (or star) in play.</p><p>Inside the octagon are "deflectors." They come in three colours and each has a different effect if you catch it with your paddle.</p><p>There are also geometric shapes to destroy inside the octagon that will trigger a chain of reactions when struck.</p><p>You try to cause as much chaos and destruction as possible in order to get a high score. Your rise through levels the longer you stay alive and the difficulty increases with it.��
