&#;
Microsoft has bought Zenimax Media and its game publisher, Bethesda Softworks, for a reported $7.5 billion.In an Xbox Wire blog post, studio head Phil Spencer announced that the company had entered an agreement to acquire Zenimax Media, along with all its properties including The Elder Scrolls, Fallout and DOOM.

“Today is a special day, as we welcome some of the most accomplished studios in the games industry to Xbox. We are thrilled to announce Microsoft has entered into an agreement to acquire ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks,” Spencer wrote in the blog post.

“Just as they took the bold first steps to bring The Elder Scrolls franchise to the original Xbox, Bethesda were early supporters of Xbox Game Pass, bringing their games to new audiences across devices and have been actively investing in new gaming technology like cloud streaming of games. We will be adding Bethesda’s iconic franchises to Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.”

This means we could see many Bethesda games coming to mobile through the Xbox Game Pass app, allowing players to play games at console-level graphics using streaming technology. Skyrim being on every platform is already a bit of a meme, but it’s certainly possible we’ll be playing it on our smartphones in the not too distant future.

Microsoft has reportedly spent $7.5 billion on the acquisition, according to the official press release. This also means that Doom, which was a centrepiece for Google Stadia, could now become an exclusive to Xbox’s cloud streaming ecosystem.
New to Game Pass? Take a look at our list of the best titles to play on Android with the Game Pass app."Come, come, Cornelia, don't you think you're a mite unreasonable?"

    Like unshorn velvet, on that termless skin,
Square Rave looks to be the next twitchy rhythm-action game set to sink its musical fangs into me. That's a good thing, by the way.

It's the work of Brighton-based sound designer and musician Adam Hay, who has worked at Traveller's Tales, Rare, and is currently with The Chinese Room.

Square Rave is a side project, then, but that hasn't stopped it grabbing my attention.

Using just your finger, the idea is to move into one of the blue squares of a grid every time a new bar of music passes. The bar is represented by a vertical line moving across the screen.

You can get a multiplier going by moving through more than just one of the blue squares before the bar ends. However, if you're not in a "safe" blue square when that bar has ended, you've failed. Game over.

    &#;
There was a time when we thought the next time Mario was going to turn up on our phones would be in Mario Kart Tour. That time is over though, because we now know the next Nintendo game to land for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices is going to be Dr. Mario World.

Nintendo has revealed that the puzzler will be coming to the App Store and the Google Play Store on July 10th. That's not the only information that the big N has released about the game though.

Perhaps the most interesting bit is that Dr. Mario World will be "free to start." That might make it sound like the game is going to follow a similar monetisation path as Super Mario Run - where the first chunk of the game was free, but you had to buy a one off IAP to get any farther.

However, the game looks like it's also going to have an energy system, and two different currencies - gems and coins (check out the trailer below and you'll see what we mean). That suggests to us that Nintendo is just saying free to play in a slightly different way. Or it's trying some dual monetisation strategy that we can't figure out - stranger things have definitely happened.
Nintendo's E3 2019 Direct was the best E3 conference
Dr. Mario isn't the only physician in attendance here - you'll also be using Dr. Peach, Dr. Bowser, Dr. Toad, and more. At launch the game will feature 200 stages, but more will be added down the line, as well as more characters.

There's going to be some online modes here as well. You can get gifts of "stamina-giving hearts" from your friends in the campaign, and there's a versus mode that lets you compete one-on-one with players from around the world too.

You can get a better idea of what's happening in the game by checking out the new trailer that we've embedded under this paragraph. And, if you're the sort of person who likes to get things at the earliest possible opportunity, you can click here to pre-order Dr. Mario World for iPhone and iPad. Or, if you're a gamer of a Google persuasion, click here and you can pre-order the game for Android.

Developer Playcrab and Ubisoft's Might & Magic Heroes: Era of Chaos has finally arrived for iOS and Android. It's of course set in the high-fantasy universe of Heroes of Might & Magic, and gameplay-wise it aims to be a layered strategy experience specifically designed for mobile devices.

The basic hook is being able to build a powerful army of iconic Might & Magic characters. There are currently nine modes in total to try out, and the combat is said to demand careful analysis of the battlefield. You'll organise your units and place them in tactically advantageous positions around the map prior to everything kicking off.

Every hero and unit type belongs to a specific faction. Some of these include the faction of demons or Necropolis, the faction of the Undead, and the faction of humankind. One of the game's many challenges stems from learning and understanding what each faction excels at in terms of abilities.
And sweetens, in the suff'ring pangs it bears,

Before the Platinum Award-winning Wayward Souls was blowing everyone away with its roguelike-y RPG goodness, there was Mage Gauntlet.

A modest action RPG done in a similar vein to some classic favorites, Mage Gauntlet earned a Silver Award from us following its launch in late 2011. Now, RocketCat Games have released the former iOS exclusive on Android.

Our review of Mage Gauntlet called it "brainless but often hilarious," a simple hack 'n slash that lacks the puzzle elements that some may favor of the genre, but excels with its "well-tuned" combat.

You can buy Mage Gauntlet on Google Play now for its on sale price of £1.49 / $1.99. It normally sells for £1.99 / $2.99.

RocketCat Games are currently working with Madgarden on a survival horror game called Death Road to Canada.
In the game, your foremost task is to select a team of yours, where your work style and most of the individual players matter. You have to choose the group from all the famous and real football players. Yes, you will get to buy Ronaldo, Neymar, Messi, and others for better performance and ensure your team wins against the other.
